Our class had the honor of having Rhode Island Congressman David Cicilline as our Guest Reader for Reading Week today!

He read the book Zen Shorts by Jon J. Muth.  It is the story of a panda named Stillwater who visits three children.  Stillwater tells stories and imparts gentle wisdom to his young friends.

After the reading, Congressman Cicilline took time to speak with our class.  He told us about his job in Washington, and the kinds of work he is doing to support the state of Rhode Island.  He then answered questions from our students.

We enjoyed his visit very much!  It was an honor to have him read to us and visit with us.
